Successful Cross-Age Collaboration

“Intergenerational Collaboration allows organizations to benefit from the strengths of each generation, while mitigating potential divides”
Dr.A.Shaji George

Context

Today’s teams bring together colleagues from multiple generations – each with unique skills, perspectives, and ways of working.

When these differences are recognised and valued, they spark innovation, improve knowledge transfer, and strengthen team cohesion.

When they’re ignored, they can lead to misunderstandings, bias, and missed opportunities.

This training equips participants with the mindset, skills, and tools to collaborate effectively across age groups and life stages.

Outcomes

Recognise the benefits and challenges of cross-age collaboration.

Identify and address unconscious bias and stereotypes related to age.

Communicate effectively across different work styles and expectations.

Build trust, respect, and shared purpose between generations.

Apply practical strategies for inclusive teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Before & After

Before

  • I often struggled to collaborate with other age groups than mine. Either too young and too direct, either older and what I considered as resistant to change. It really hurt the team environment we were working in and ultimately, our performance.

After

  • I have a better understanding of age-generational mapping and adapted my views and behaviour. That has allowed me to flip what hindered me before in actually leveraging our cross-age team diversity into a positive impact on team morale and results.
